Dr. M. Jahangir Alam is a distinguished academic in the field of economics, currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Calgary, Canada, and has extensive experience in both teaching and research. His areas of expertise include Monetary Policy, Data Science, and Applied Macroeconomics.
Dr. Alam has an impressive track record in academia, having previously held positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University and Truman State University, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at HEC Montréal, Canada. His scholarly work is well-recognized in the academic community, with numerous publications in reputable journals. Key publications include research on capital misallocation, data synthesis for longitudinal business data, and the long-run effects of monetary policy on economic growth.

Dr. Alam is deeply engaged in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, such as ChatGPT, to foster critical thinking and provide customized educational content. He and his team have developed an innovative tool, PlusMind AI, designed to generate multiple-choice questions effortlessly. Additionally, they introduced EduCreator, a platform for crafting AI-generated course materials, further enhancing the learning experience.
In his teaching, Dr. Alam employs ChatGPT Plus to instruct students in Prompt Engineering, utilizing GitHub Copilot within Visual Studio Code for Python programming. Furthermore, for collaborative coding projects, he uses Google Colab, enabling seamless teamwork and innovation.
